Installation
The installation of this unit was very simple, and the instructions that were included in the User's Guide were quite comprehensive, they included pictures for every step. After breezing through the User's Guide it was time to get to work.

Safety First!

But of course!

Determine which hard drive you are going to use in what position, so you will know when you want to access it, you know which is which.

This is where you determine the jumper settings. Here are a few other setups:

Drive 3

Make sure that this is done before you install the Trios II, or it will be very difficult.

The Trios II with the cables connected.

Any PCI card slot on the motherboard will work, especially since it is only their for mounting purposes. The card draws nothing from the PCI slot on the motherboard, it is just inserted there for mounting purposes.

Connect the IDE cables to the appropriate drives designated in step 3.

Connect the last IDE cable to the motherboard.

Connect the Molex connectors (included) to the hard drives. And the other end of the cable to the Trios II card.

Disconnect the main power cable from the motherboard, and connect it to the Extended Power Cable. Then connect the other end of it back to the motherboard, and the small connector on it, to the Trios II.

Replace the computer cover.

Now the final step. Connect the control panel to the Trios II.

And that's all there is to installing the Romtec Trios II. Next we had to set the control panel. Once everything was reconnected including the power cable, the control panel was on, we had to select . and BEFORE the PC was turned on.

1. Single Drive Mode
Each Hard Drive runs independently with their own Operating System.
Press to cycle through Drives, and select Drive to run.

2. Dual Drive Mode
Run 2 Drives simultaneously and transfer data between the Drives
Press and select Drive 1, then Press to select Second Drive

This is how my case looked after I installed the Trios II, a bit cluttered.

Now it was time to get everything running!
