Installation
The installation for this device is similar to installing any 5.25 inch with the exception that there was the added installation of the hard drive into the drawer.

On a side note, I was rather impressed with the "Instruction Guide" that was included, it gives a comprehensive installation guide, which you don't see much now, everyone ASSUMES you will know.

Before I begin the installation; the hard drive that was a 20GB spare drive that I use to store some of my files. Naturally I have it set to be the slave drive on IDE channel 2. The Instruction Guide states that "Only drives that are connected to the secondary IDE controller can be hot-swapped with the Swap Manager Software. It is NOT possible to hot-swap the C: or any other drives on the primary controller"

Installing the Hard Drive in the Caddy
1. Remove the caddy from the bay by lifting the handle and sliding the caddy out of the bay.
2. Remove the top panel of the caddy by pressing the cover release button and sliding the lid towards the rear of the caddy.
3. Connect the yellow-beige IDE ribbon to the hard drive, making sure that the red wire in on Pin 1.
4. Attach the power connector to the hard drive.
5. Gently place the hard drive in the caddy, making sure that the screw-holes on the bottom of the hard drive line up with the holes in the caddy.
6. Using the 6-32 x 1/4" (course thread) screews, mount your hard drive into the drawer.
7. Replace the top panel of the caddy.

Now once that is done we can go an install the bay into the PC chassis.

Installing the Bay in the PC
1. Make sure your system is unplugged and you are grounded.
2. Remove the side covers from your system and remove the front cover from an available 5 1/4" drive bay.
3. Insert the bay into the 5 1/4" bay slot, making sure that the screw-holes on the side of the bay line up with the holes in the bay slot.
4. Connect your computers IDE cable to the connector on the back of the bay. (SECONDARY IDE CONTROLLER CABLE ONLY!!)
5. Plug a available molex connector into the power port on the back of the bay.
6. Using the M3 x 1/4" long (fine thread) screws, mount the bay into the PC.

Installing the Caddy in the Bay
1. With the handle lifted, slide the caddy into the bay until it is firmly seated. Lower the handle to click the caddy into its proper position.
2. Insert the key and turn clockwise to lock the drive into place and supply the drive withpower. (The Drive will not function if the drawer has not been locked.)

That was it for the installation, now it was time to power up and install the software that would allow us to "hot-swap" the drive. Once you connected everything correctly, when you boot up your PC you should see the drive there in my computer, and accessing it should be no problem. The software as I just said is mainly to allow you to be able to remove and replace the drive drawer without having to power down the PC.

The installation of the software is simple. Just pop the CD into your CD-Rom drive, and follow the instructions. Once the software is installed an icon will appear on your desktop "SwapManager". When you open that program, once you have done everything correctly, you should see something like this.

The third drive is the one that I installed into the drive drawer.

This is when I "SwappedOut" the drive.

After swapping out the drive to remove it just follow the instructions below.

Removing the Drive Drawer
1. Insert the key and turn clockwise to unlock the drive drawer.
2. Lift the handle and gently pull the caddy out of the bay.
